ABOUT ME
I think catching light and memories of places is the essence of what I aim for as an artist. I also try to bring an element of movement and gravity to scenes, which is both impossible in a two dimensional painting but absolutely necessary to make a picture believable and stir emotion.
I've also been known to draw caricatures and cartoons of people and circumstances that sometimes annoy me, (the list is growing), but what d'you expect from an old Yorkshire bloke...
North Yorkshire, England and no, we're besieged by potholes where we live. I work from photographs and my imagination, which is a bit worrying, given what I sometimes come up with...
Mainly realistic but I like trying to capture a mood with light and colours.
No, although I produce caricatures and sketches I won't do the live wedding thing, I'm too old and grumpy for all that happy stuff...
Personally at exhibitions and digital downloads. Physical art will be posted in appropriate protective packaging (if that's actually possible)!
Items will also be tracked and insured. I'll sort out any actual delivery or damage problems personally with replacements or refunds.
Greetings cards and the like are printed and packaged by a local company using state of the art dye based printers.
Copies of original paintings are printed by me personally, using a Canon SLR camera and prime lens, Photoshop and a Canon Prograf Pro 1100 Giclee printer (pigment ink) on a range of art papers, all of which can accurately be classed as archival quality.
If you catch me at an exhibition I might have a small number of display pieces I'd sell at the end of a show but generally no, I just sell prints.
Ive found it difficult to second guess a customers colour preferences and moulding style, so I avoid that particular headache!
